Premabhishekam completes 90 percent shoot

90 percent shooting of the film Premabhishekam being directed by S.S. Vikram Gandhi with Venu Madhav in the lead has been completed. Venu Madhav is also producing this film.
The film will be released in the first week of February. The film is being made under the banner of Savitri Cinema. Nagababu and Srihari are playing important roles in the film.

Jr. NTR - Dil Raju film titled Kshatreeyudu

Audio of the film Okka Magaadu being directed and produced by Y.V.S. Choudary under the banner of Bommarillu with Yuvaratna Balakrishna in the lead was launced at a function held at Cyber Gardens in Hyderabad. Union Minister Dr. Dasari Narayana Rao was the chief guest. He relesed the audio by giving away the first cassette. The first CD was given away by K. Raghavendra rao. Anushka, one of the female leads in the movie was present on the occasion. R. Narayana Murthy, S.S. Rajamouli, Boyapati Srinu, Sreenu Vaitla, C. Kalyan, Ramyakrishna, Sanghavi, Charmme and others attended the function. The audio will be released into market on Monday through Supreme Music.

Anasuya movie review

Anasuya (Bhoomika) is an orphan and works as a TV reporter. She stays in the house of an old man (Melkote) and someone kills that old man. Anasuya identifies that killer (Ravi Babu). The killer keeps on killing different people in the city and takes away one organ from their body. Police fails to crack the mystery of those serial murders and the purpose of taking away organs from them. Anasuya tries to find the killer herself. She assists police and also takes help from them until she catches him with the help of an Inspector (Abbas). Who is this killer and why he kills the people and takes away organs from them and how he will be caught is the remaining story.

Ravi Babu’s is impressive with his character. Bhoomika's performance is good. Nikitha and Abbas are okay. Sound effects are impressive. Cinematography is good. Screenplay is pretty loose and Should have been better. Ravi Babu's direction is good but failed in some instances. The dialogues by Nivas are ok.

First half of the film goes with thrilling and horror elements where the serial killer will be killing one after the other. Interval begins with suspense. Second half goes with the unleashing of suspense element in the film. There is no comedy in the film. There is one item song. This film is targeted to a section of viewers who like horror and thriller movies.

Don movie review

Suri (child Nagarjuna) is an orpan. He kills a drug dealer and saves other orphans (Lawrence and other kids). 20 years later, Suri becomes a don of Hyderabad and does good deeds to the people. He treats Raghava (Lawrence) as his own brother. Stephen (Kelly Dorjee) is considered to be the don of entire India except Andhra Pradesh where Suri is the don. Stephen then decides to even takeover AP and asks Suri to join hands with him, but Suri rejects the offer and warns him not to interfere with him in AP. Then Stephen tries to kill Suri and how Suri handles the situation is the remaining story.

Nagarjuna is seen in a new Stylish look with new hair style. Nagarjuna's performace is good.
Cinematography by S. Gopalareddy and editing by Marthand K.Venkatesh are good. Background score by Chinna is okay. Action scens by Vijay are stylish. Story, screenplay, choreography, music, and direction are handled by Lawrence. He also acted in this movie. He was not up to the mark in his fields. There is no comedy in the film. Overall this movie coule be an average film.

FNCC awards in association with Wizcraft

Film Nagar Cultural Association would be holding an event to present awards. Various awards would be given in specific categories of films by jury comprising a special panel selected by the FNCC Management Committee. All the films in this year, beginning last December to this November would be considered for nomination. FNCC president producer K S Rama Rao said that soon they would also begin training technicians and artistes for intake into the Telugu film industry. The award function would be held on December 31. This function is conducted in association with Wizcraft, which also organizes the IFFA awards for Bollywood.

Pawan Kalyan's Puli to begin shoot from Sankranthi

Mantra Movie Review

Mantra (Charmme) is a working woman who also teaches dancing to children. She has to pay debts owed by her father and decides to sell her Mantra Nilayam (farmhouse) to pay the debts. However no one comes to by the farm house as mysterious deaths took place in that house. An unknown professor comes up to buy the farm house, but with a condition. The deal is that if Mantra gets people to stay for at least three months, the professor promises to buy the property. So she tries to find tenants for the house. Hero (Sivaji, character’s name is Hero) offers to stay in the house along with his friends. Very soon his friend Muniswamy (Chitram Srinu) is murdered. Hero tries to find out what is behind the unnatural incidents taking place at Mantra Nilayam. Charmee does act her part perfectly as the simple working girl, faced with a crisis, which in turn puts her face to face with death. She comes off as a girl who has the spirit to figure out what’s happening, instead of shrieking at the word go. Sivaji, Kausa, Chitram Srinu, Jeeva, all play their parts convincingly. Cinematographer Sivendra and music director Anand have done a very good job. directorThulasi Ram and come up with good work to keep up the film’s impact.

Vaana audio launched

Suresh Productions to produce Teja's new film

A yet to be titled film has been announced which is being directed by Teja and produced by Sureshbabu. This film will be made on the banners of Suresh Productions and Chitram movies jointly with all newcomers. Producer D. Suresh Babu informed the media on November 11, 2007 that he has liked the script developed by Teja and came forward to produce it. The film will begin in February 2008. Teja was supposed to direct a film with Venkatesh on Suresh Productions banner but it did not materialize.

Maheshbabu's latest flick Athidhi was released recently. He has two films, Mirchi and Hare Rama Hare Krishna in the making. He will start shooting again after a three month break.

Mahesh babu Atidhi Review

Atidhi (Maheshbabu) is orphan and taken up by Rajeev Kanakala and his wife when he was child. Amrita (Amrita Rao) is the daughter of Rajeev Kanakala. Rajeev Kanakala decides to join Atidhi in the hostel and while he and his wife were taking Atidhi to the hostel a man stops them and asks for money. He kills Rajeev Kanala and his wife on refusal of giving the money. Police arrests Atidhi saying that he has killed them. Atidhi after spending 13 years in jail comes out and searches for Amrita. He comes to know that Kaiser was the man who killed Rajeev Kanakala and his wife. Amrita meets him accidentally and follows him. Atidhi comes to know that Kaiser even wants to kill Amrita. How Atidhi learns that the girl accompanying him was his childhood friend Amrita and how he saves her from Kaiser is the remaining story.

Mahesh babu looks good with his new hair style. His performance very good. Amrita Rao's performance is pretty ordinary and she does not look good in this movie. Sameer Reddy camera work is excellent. Action scenes are good. Malika Arora appears in the guest role in a song and she is good. Comedy is very limited and okay. Film is too lengthy and direction by Surender Reddy is good in parts, but not well on a whole. One can watch this movie for Maheshbabu.

John Apparao 40 Plus shooting progress

The shooting of the talkie part of John Apparao 40 plus being directed by Kuchipudi Venkat with Krishna Bhagwan and Simran in the lead is likely to be completed by October 24. To save her mother, Ram Charan Teja goes to jail for doing a murder done by somebody else. He will be released after spending 12 years in jail. He comes to know that his mother also died. How does he finds his mother and takes revenge against Mattu Bhai is the remaining story.

Ram Charan Teja has a good work. His acting is impressive and dance is very good. He has almost reached of the huge expectation of being the son of Megastar. Heroine Neha Sharma is pretty ordinary. Direction and screenplay are good. First half of the movie is entertaining and second half has less entertainment. Climax of the movie is routine. Music by Manisharma is good.

Audio of the film Chirutha directed by Puri Jagannath and produced by Ashwinidutt on the banner of Vyjayanti Movies introducing Ram Charan Teja, son of Megastar Chiranjeevi as hero was released into the market recently. The audio was a big hit and hence the music company and the film unit had decided to organise the Platinum Disc function. Platinum Disc function may be held on September 11 or 12. The movie would be released on September 29.

Kshanam completes censor formalities

Censor formalities of the film Kshanam directed by Ratnakar and produced by Naresh Kumar Gupta on the banner of NKG Productions with Sai Kiran and Mamata in the lead were completed recently. The film would be released by the end of September. Shyam K. Ravi scored music for this murder mystery and suspense thriller. The story of the film goes like this, three youths commit a mistake inadvertently and escape from problems with the help of a friend. However, they continue to fear what would happen to them for every moment. Vaibhav, Navya, Jackie, Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao, Ganesh, Latha Sri, Mallika and others are in the cast. Camera is handled by C.V. Anand, choreography is by Anand, action is by Avinash, while editing is done by Nandamuri Hari.

Andamaina Manasulo Shooting Launched on September 7

Shooting of the film Andamaina Manasulo directed by R.P. Patnaik and produced by S.V. Babu on the banner of SV Productions introducing Rajiv as hero and Archana Gupta as heroine was launched at Annapurna Studio in Hyderabad on September 7, 2007. Sindhu Menon is another heroine in this film. The film has a tagline 'A feel good film'. Producer D. Ramanaidu gave the clap, while senior artiste Murali Mohan switched on the camera for the muhurat shot picturised under the honorary direction of K. Raghavendra Rao. Music is scored by R.P. Patnaik himself. This is the first film as director for R.P. Patnaik. Producer of this film SV Babu had earlier produced three films in Kannada. R.P. Patnaik scored music for those films. The film runs with university in its backdrop. The current schedule would continue for four more days and then the film unit would shift to Ooty and continue shooting there from September 17.

Mickey J. Meyer scored music for the film. As you well know, Sekhar Kammula previously directed movies Anand and Godavari, both were big hits.

Shooting of the film Mr. Medhavi directed by Neelakanta and produced by B. Rama Rao on the banner of Lifestyle Art Pictures with Raja and Genelia in the lead was done for the past two months in Hyderabad. Talkie part of the film was completed recently. The story of the film is as follows. The hero works in a corporate office, while the heroine is an NRI. Both of them fall in love with each other. Though the basic story is based on love theme, the film was not just aimed at youth audiences but could be enjoyed by the entire family by sitting together. Famous writer Bhamidipati Radhakrishna is no more

Popular playwright, film script writer, numerologist and astrologer Bhamidipati Radhakrishna passed away at 11.45 am on September 4, 2007 at the age of 78. It was this astrologer and numerologist who changed the name of Kan Kennedy as Vikram who went on become a super star in Tamil and also became popular in Telugu with the film Aparichitudu. He wrote stories for over 150 films including Brahmachari, Kathanayakudu, Vichitra Kutumbam, Palleturi Bava, Govula Gopanna etc.

The shooting of the film Kantri to be directed by Meher Ramesh and produced by C. Ashwinidutt on the banner of Vyjayanti Movies with Junior NTR and Hansika Motwani in the lead would be launched on September 14, 2007. The character's name of Junior NTR in this film is Kranti. Ria Sen is the another heroine in the movie. This is the second film for Hansika Motwani in Telugu after superhit film Desamuduru starring Allun. NTR Memorial Award to Krishna

NTR Memorial Award for the year 2003 was announced to Superstar Krishna. The Government of Andhra Pradesh had introduced a lifetime achievement award in the name of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao called 'NTR Memorial Award' some time ago. Due to some reasons the announcement of this award was stopped from three years. Now the NTR memorial award was announced for all the three years. NTR Memorial Award was announced to Superstar Krishna for the year 2003, to Music Maestro Illayaraja for the year 2004 and to Kannada artiste and politician, Ambarish for the year 2005. This was declared by the Nandi Awards Committee comprising Gummadi Venkateswara Rao, M Balaiah and M Mohanbabu. These Awards along with the Nandi Awards would be presented at a function to be held in November.

Wedding reception of Nandamuri Balakrishna's daughter Brahmini and Former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's son Lokesh was held at Nimmakuru the birth place of Balakrishna on August 29, 2007. Thousands of Nandamuri fans and Telugu Desam party supporters attended the party. Balakrishna had thrown this reception for his fans who could not attend his daughter's wedding on August 26 at Hyderabad. Don directed by Raghava Lawrence and produced by M.L. Kumar Choudary on the banner of Sri Keerthi Creations with Akkineni Nagarjuna and Anushka in the lead will be releasing on December 20, 2007. Raghava Lawrence is making his debut as music director through this film. On the occasion of Nagarjuna's birthday, he said 'The Don has nothing to do with mafia, but it is a Robin Hood kind of character. The story, however, was woven around a fight between the Mumbai mafia don and Hyderabad mafia don. Lawrence had scripted a fantastic screenplay and the movement of the story would be quite thrilling. We are planning to release the film on December 20, 2007.'

Ramgopal Varma's Aag as Aggi in Telugu

As you well know, Ramgopal Varma is making a Bollywood film with an inspiration from the all time superhit film Sholay of 1975. First the title of this Hindi film was choosen as Ramgopal Varma ka Sholay, but later it was changed to Aag as the producers of the original Sholay objected. This Hindi film directed and produced by Ramgopal Varma would be released as Aggi in Telugu on August 31 through Money Tree Entertainment. The film unit is arranging a press meeting at Taj Krishna hotel in Hyderabad at 8 pm on August 23 to explain the details of 'Aggi', in which the unit would explain about the film in the form of trailers and song clippings to the media. Amitabh Bachchan would attend the programme as a chief guest. Amitabh Bachchan, Mohanlal, Ajay Devgan, Sushmita Sen, Nisha Kothari, and Prashant Raj are in the cast. Animation film Ghatothkach is getting ready in English, Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Bengali, Malayalam, and Kannada languages simultaneously. This film is of 100-minute duration. There are eight songs in the film and Sun Motion Pictures is presenting the film. The film is being made in Philippines, Singapore, United Kingdom, Canada and India.
