Doctorate to Veturi by Nagarjuna University

Acharya Nagarjuna University has announced an honorary doctorate to Veturi Sundarama Murthy, which would be awarded to him on August 3 at its convocation. As you well know, Veturi Sundarama Murthy is a popular lyricist.

Veturi Sundararama Murthy is a disciple of the legendary Tirupati Venkata Kavulu. While working as a journalist, Veturi got his first break in movies through K. Viswanath. Later, he wrote thousands of songs. Veturi wrote a large variety of songs ranging from classic poetry to the folk and mass ones. He is also the second lyricist from Telugu film industry to win the National Film Award for Best Lyrics for the song Raalipoye puvva neeku ragaalenduke from the picture Maathrudevobhava. He considers Thakita thadimi and Nadavinodamu of Saagara Sangamam to be two of his best songs.
