Kantri - Movie Review

Story
Kranthi alias Kantri (Junior NTR) joins the gang run by Seshu (Ashish Vidhyardhi). Seshu works for mafia don PR alias Potu Raju (Prakash Raj) from Hong Kong. When asked to catch the men from rival gang in Hong Kong, Kranthi completes the task successfully and impresses PR. Kranthi comes across an acting student Varalakshmi (Hansika) and fells in love with her. When Kranthi's friend needs urgent medical treatment, he asks for help from Seshu to which he declines. Then Kranthi forms his own gang and this makes PR to come down to India. When both of them face each other, they come to know that Kranthi is son of PR. The movie has an interesting twist in the end.

Performances
Director Meher Ramesh has done a fair job. He successfully presented Junior NTR in a new look. NTR's performance is very good. His new look, dances and dialogues are good. Twist in the climax, first half, dialogues and NTR are the highlights of the movie, while the remaining film is routine. Hansika looks good in this film. Tanisha's has no significant role. Prakash Raj’s role is routine. Comedy by Dharmavarapu and Krishna Baghavan is good.

Overall its a must watch movie for NTR fans while an average movie for others.

Suresh Productions-Ravi Teja film shooting progress

Shooting of the film being produced by D. Suresh Babu on the banner of Suresh Productions with Raviteja in the lead is progressing well. The shooting was delayed due to the unfortunate death of a junior artiste due to drowning in Godavari during the film shooting. The film is being directed by Udayashankar of Kalisundam Raa fame. Allari Ravibabu is going to direct some songs in this film. Radhakrishnan is scoring music for the songs in this film while Manisharma is providing the background score.

Parvathi Melton in Varudu

Parvati Melton is going to play as second heroine the film Varudu to be directed by Trivikram Srivinas starring Mahesh Babu. Parvati Melton's last film was Jalsa starring Powerstar Pawan Kalyan which is also directed by Trivikram Srinivas, in which she acted as second female lead while Ileana was the main heroine. Varudu is to be produced by Singanamala Ramesh. They are trying to rope in a top Bollywood heroine for this film. The film had its formal pooja on April 30, 2008 and the regular shooting of the film begins from June. Manisharma is scoring the music of the film.

Victory Venktaesh in Jaya Krishna Mukunda Murari

Victory Venkatesh is going to act in the film titled Jaya Krishna Mukunda Murari to be directed by Jagarlamudi Radhakrishna Murthy also known as Krish. Krish has made his debut as a director with the film Gamyam starring Allari Naresh, Sharvanand, and Kamilini Mukherjee, which turned out to be a good successful film. Star producer Aswanidutt is likely to produce the film on the banner of Vyjayanti Movies. Presently Venkatesh is busy with the shooting of Chintakalya Ravi.

Siddardh's new film to be directored by assistant director of Bommarillu

Siddharth is going to act in a film to be produced by D.V.V. Danaiah and directed by the debutant director Anand. Anand has previously worked as assitant director for Bommarillu. The regular shoot of this film will begin shortly. Hero Siddardh is currently busy with a film being produced by Bujji and directed by newcomer Kishore (Dolly). Producer Danaiah is also be co-producing Ravi Teja and Puri Jagannadh's Neninte.

Nagarjuna's King begins shooting

The shooting of a film being directed by Sreenu Vaitla and produced by Siva Prasada Reddy on the banner of Kamakshi Kala Movies with Akkineni Nagarjuna was formally launched at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad on April 30, 2008. Akkineni Nageswara Rao gave the clap, while Amala switched on the camera for the muhurat shot. King is the title under consideration for the film. Trisha is the heroine in this film. Devisri Prasad is the music director. Currently, Sreenu Vaitla is busy with the shooting of Ready starring Ram and Genelia. The regular shooting of King would begin from May 20, 2008 .

Trivikram - Maheshbabu film shooting launched

Shooting of the film being produced by Singanamala Ramesh and directed by Trivikram Srinivas with Maheshbabu as hero and Trisha as heroine was launched at Padmalaya Studios in Hyderabad on April 30 2008. Super Star Krishna and Vijayanirmala were present at the occasion. The regular shooting of the film is likely to begin in June. Trivikram Srinivas has previously directed the film Athadu with the same leading pair Maheshbabu and Trisha , which was a big hit. Trivikram's latest film Jalsa starring Powerstar Pawankalyan is currenly running successfully.

Parugu Review

Story:
Neelakantam (Prakash Raj) is a rich person who lives in a village. His elder daughter (Poonam Bajwa) runs away with her boyfriend just before her marriage. Neelakantam catches all the friends of her boyfriend to find the couple. Krishna (Allu Arjun) is one of her boyfriend's friend. Once Krishna comes across Meena (Sheela) and falls in love with her. He does not know at that time that Meena is none other than Neelakantam's younger daughter. She is an innocent girl who was blamed by all for her sister's mistake. Neelakantam is very careful now as he does not want the same incidence to happen with his younger daughter. How Krishna wins his love is the remaining story.

Performances:
Bommarillu Bhaskar who directed a blockbuster movie like Bommarillu comes with another love story with communication gap between the parents and children as the main theme. Bhaskar did not succed much with this attempt. Allu Arjun once again did come with a good performance. Music by Mani Sarma good. Cinematography is very good. Dialogue are very goodf. Comedy is good. First half of the film is entertaining while second half is not much impressive.

Overall a watchable movie.

Swaralaya-KPAC Sulochana award for P. Susheela

Playback singer P. Susheela has been selected for this year’s Swaralaya-KPAC Sulochana Award. The award is given in memory of K P A C Sulochana, the great theater playback artist. This award is given to female playback artists. Pulapaka Susheela was born in 1935 at Vizianagaram. She sung several songs in most of the Indian languages including Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. In her career spanning about four decades, she received National Film Award for Best Female Playback Singer five times in 1969, 1972, 1978, 1983 and 1984. In 2001, Andhra Pradesh Government honored her with the Raghupathi Venkaiah Award for lifetime achievement to Telugu Cinema. In 2005, she achieved Special Jury Swaralaya Yesudas Award for outstanding performance in music. She is also the latest recipient of Padmabhushan award.

Mohan Babu in Pandurangadu

Mohanbabu is doing an important role in the film Pandurangadu being produced and directed by veteran director K. Raghavendra Rao starring Nandamuri Balakrishna and Sneha. Earlier, Mohan Babu did a very important role in Annamayya being directed by Raghavendra. Tabu is also playing an important role in this film. Mohanbabu will be shooting for the film from April 29, 2008. Audio of this film was recently released into market and already got a very good response. M.M. Keeravani has scored music for this film. He previously scored music for another two devotional films Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu directed by K. Raghavendra Rao with Akkineni Nagarjuna in the title role in both of the films.

V.V. Vinayak - NTR film launched

A new film being directed by V.V. Vinayak starring Jr. NTR has been launched. This is the third film in their combination after Aadi and Sambha. The film was launched onApril 23, 2008 at Film Nagar Club. The film is made on Vaishanavi Arts Banner and is produced by Kodali Nani and Vamsi Mohan. Balakrishna was present on the occasion. The event was live telecasted by TV Channels. Muhurat shot was clapped by Balakrishna and directed by K. Raghavendra Rao and Kalyan Ram switched on the camera. Ashwini Dutt, SS Rajamouli, Arjun Raju, MS Raju, S Gopal Reddy, Dil Raju and others attended the function.

Neninthe to begin shoot in July

Puri Jagannadh is now busy with shooting of two songs for his film Bujjigaadu starring Prabhas and Trisha. Bujjigadu is getting ready to be released on May 16, 2008. After the completion of this film, Puri Jaganatth would begin a movie with Ravi Teja titled Neninte. The regular shooting of this film will begin July. Puri Jagannath is going to direct and produce this. Puri Jagannadh will also be launching Nagarjuna's son Naga Chaitanya towards the end of this year.

Kanti to hit screens on May 7

Kantri starring Junior NTR, Hansika and Tanisha will be hitting the screen on May 7, 2008. This film is being directed by Meher Ramesh. The film is being produced on the banner of Vyjayanti Movie by C. Ashwini Dutt. The film will be an out and out mass entertainer. The music of this film has been scored by Mani Sharma. The audio was released into the marked recently and doing great. Prakash Raj, Sayaji Shinde, Sunil, Ali, Ashish Vidyarthi, Murali Sharma, Krishna Bhaghawan and Hema are in the cast. The camera for this film has been handled by Sameer Reddy and the editing has been done by Marthand K. Venkatesh.

Uday Kiran's Gunde Jhallumandi shooting progress

Shooting of the film Gunde Jhallumandi starring Uday Kiran and Aditi Sharma is almost completed except four songs. Aditi has acted in the latest Bollywood film Black and White. Story writer-director Madan is directing this film. Paruchuri Siva Ram Prasad is the producer. This is the second for this director after his debut with Pellaina Kothalo. The story of Gunde Jhallumandi has a college setup as its background. So we can assume that this film will obviously have love as its theme. M.M. Keeravani is the music director of the film.

Michael Madana Kamaraju

Story

Madan (Srikanth) and Kamaraju (Sunil) are cousins and their parents reside in USA. Madan owns an Ad agency and he successfully runs it. Kamaraju is crazy about girls and manages to moves around them. Madan believes that love and romance are ladders to fulfill desires and nothing else exists more in it. And the physical attraction is just an infatuation created by the mind for the body. The two heroes go on a Goa trip for a holiday and there Madan happens to meet Charmy. Charmy is a dress designer by profession and wins the first prize in the dress designing competition in which Madan happens to be one of the judges. Madan personally meets Charmy and from then on they both become friends. Charmy also fetches a job as a creative head in Madan’s ad agency.

Kamaraju also meets Asha Saini in Goa and accompanies her to Hyderabad. James (brahmanadham) tries to kill Madan because he lured his wife and runs with her.
Meanwhile Madan’s falls in love with Charmy. However Kamaraju is ignorant about the whole development and plays a trick and prints a weeding card which has Charmy and another man Michael (Prabhu Deva) as the bride and the bridegroom.

Madan thinks that the wedding card is true and bargains Michael for five lakh rupees to end his engagement with Charmy. But Michael is a witty guy. He tries to trap Charmy and marries her for the sake of her father’s money. Charmy’s father is Nagababu who owns around 100 crores property. The rest of the story is how Madan and Kamaraju succeed in their love.

Performances

Srikanth has done a very good job. Charmy is gorgeous in this film. Sunil’s performance is okay.
Prabhu deva has also given a good performance. Brahmanandham is excellent. Other comedians are okay. Music by Chakri is average.

Overall an average film which can be watched for just timepass.

Bujjigaadu to hit screens on May 16

Shooting of the film Bujjigaadu being directed by Puri Jagannadh starring Prabhas and Trisha has been almost completed. The film will be releasing on May 16, 2008. Mohan Babu is playing a special role in this film. K.S. Ramarao is the producer of this film. Currently shooting a song and fight sequence is in progress in Chennai and will completed in two days. Audio of the film will be released on April 18. The unit then will leave for New Zealand to shoot two more songs. Newcomer Sanjana is playing second female lead. STORY
The film starts with the voice of Mahesh Babu who calls himself a friend of Sanjay (Pawan Kalyan). Pawan Kalyan is an alcoholic and a person obsessed with education. Pawan Kalyan loves Kamalini Mukherjee who is the daughter of Prakash Raj. In the next sceen, Pawan Kalyan is seen attending Kamalani Mukherjee’s wedding. After an year, Ileana and Parvathi Melton enter into Sanjay's.

Ileana wins Pawan Kalyan's heart with the help of Sunil. Mukesh Rushi is a notorious factionist whose occupation is doing settlements. Mukesh Rishi runs all his operations from within the Jail. Mukesh Rishi sees Pawan Kalyan for the first time in the theatre; he wants to catch him but could not. Pawan Kalyan does not know what is happening around him. Mukesh Rishi plans to kill Pawan Kalyan, but stops at the last moment saying that he needs to suffer before this death.

Mukesh Rishi tries to kill Pawan Kalyan a few times, but fails. In one of such attempts, Ali is grabbed from the group of Pawan Kalyan’s friends and a fight follows. Then Pawan Kalyan reveals about his childhood.

Second half begins with Pawan Kalyan narrating his miserable childhood and poverty he faced and how he worked for a while with the naxalites, but quits after few persons start mobbing Pawan Kalyan.

How he handles the villain and how he wins his love is the remaining story of the film.


Performances
Pawan Kalyan is excellent and his comedy is very good. Fights are choreographed well and his dance good. All the songs are picturised good and few of them are excellent. All of the heroines have not much role in this film. Trivikram Srenivas failed to deliver what he would have liked. There are few loop holes in the script. Music by Devi sri Prasad is first grade. Comedy is excellent.

Overall Jalsa is a good movie with beautiful picturization, very good songs and fights, and good comedy except the story. Nonetheless, it is a visual feast for Mega Fans and worth watching movie for general audiences.

Waheeda Rehman gets NTR award and Dr. Ramanaidu gets Raghupathi Venkaiah award

Bollywood veteran actress Waheeda Rehman bagged prestigious NTR National award and and producer D. Ramanaidu got Raghupathi Venkaiah award respectively. Andhra Pradesh Government announced this awards for year 2006 today on March 31st.

Born in Hyderabad in 1936, Waheeda Rehman began her career in Telugu films (Jaisinha and Rojulu Maarayi) and later went on to become one of the top actresses in Hindi film industry. Her last film in Telugu was Chukkallo Chandrudu (2006).

Movie Mughal Ramanaidu holds Guinness record for producing highest number of films.

Bujjigadu audio to hit stands in April second week

Audio of the film Ranga Panduranga being directed K. Raghavendra Rao starring Nandamuri Balakrishna in dual roles will be launched on April 27, 2008. The movie would be released in the first week of June. Music of this film is scored by M.M. Keeravani. Supreme Recording Company has bagged the audio rights of this film. M.M. Keeravani and Raghavendra Rao have previously worked together for the devotional films - Annamayya and Sri Ramadasu - both of which were huge hits. Tabu and Sneha are in female lead in this film while Veda does the role of Godess Rukhmini and Suhasini as Satyabhama.

Jalsa to hit screens on April 2

According to the industry's grapevine, Powerstar's much-anticipated film Jalsa has been postponed to April 2, 2008. Due to some technical reasons, the film was postponed from the previously planned date of March 27. The postproduction work that includes some part of Digital Intermediate has taken more time. In order to avoid the last minute rush and worry, the producer Allu Aravind has taken the decision to release the film on April 2. Jalsa is going to set new records as it is releasing with highest number of prints (about 400 prints) and record number of theatres. Jalsa has been directed by Trivikram and the film has three heroines in Ileana, Kamalinee Mukherjee and Parvati Melton. Music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad.

Navadeep and Tamanna to appear in Ready

Srinu Vaitla is currently busy with the direction of his latest film Ready being produced by Sravanthi Ravikishore with Ram and Genelia in the lead. Jalsa mobile and online game release on March 22

For the first time in Tollywood a game based on a Telugu film is going to be released on March 22, 2008. This mobile and online game is based on Pawan Kalyan starrer Jalsa. This game is being developed by RZ2 Games, a gaming company based in Goa. Characters in the game are Sanjay (Pawan Kalyan), Bhagyamati (Ileana) and Reddi (Mukesh Rushi). In this game, Pawan Kalyan performs six types of moves, including four types of kicks other than punches and flips. The game has four levels. The game will be released on Saturday, March 22, 2008. The movie is getting ready to be released on March 28, 2009 in more than 1000 theaters all over the world.

Veteran hero Natabushana Shoban Babu passed away

Veteran hero Natabhushana Shoban Babu died in Chennai on March 20, 2008 morning. He was 71 years old. He acted as hero in many superhit Telugu films like Swayamvaram, Jeevana Tarangalu, Mundadugu, Soggadu, Karteeka Deepam and many more. He got Nandi Awards five times. His first film was Bhakta Shabari. He initially acted in supporting roles in films like Narthanasala. He was famous for family oriented films in which he would have two wifes in many of his films. While he was doing Yoga in the morning at home, suddenly he fell down and was carried to Apollo Hospital in Chennai. At 10.50 AM he passed away.

Versatile character artiste Raghuvaran passed away in Chennai on March 19 morning. He was admitted to Mehtha Hospital for treatment a few days ago. He had been under intensive medical care for the past few weeks. Raghuvaran was born on December 11,1948. He has acted in manyTamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Hindi films. He acted as villain and character artiste. His first Telugu film is Pasivadi Pranam starring Megastar Chiranjeevi. His wife Rohini divorced. They have a son Rishi. Ranga Panduranga to shoot in Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam

Unit of the film Ranga Panduranga starring Balakrishna and Sneha is going to Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam for the shooting of three songs. There are some beautiful Hindu temples in the three countries and they are planning to shot a song in each of these contries with those temples in background on the leading pair Balakrishna and Sneha. The apartment's watchman says he is suspecting marital disputes between Kunal and his wife. Kunal's wife left the house with their two children just two days ago.

Comedian Chittajallu Lakshmpathi Rao on February 7th found dead at his bathroom at his residence in Motinagar, Hyderabad. The reason for his death is not known. Since two days he did not come out and relatives found his dead body this morning. Lakshmipathi had acted in films like Allari, Jayam, Choodalani Vundi and Murari.

Comedy actress Kalpana Rai passed away on February 7th at her residence in Hyderabad. She had acted in 400 films.

Krishna recieves honourary doctorate

Superstar Krishna received Kala Prapoorna for his contributions to Telugu Film Industry at the 75th convocation of Andhra University, Vishaka Patnam on January 16, 2008. Krishna on this ocassion said he would continue acting till his last breath. "To complete another 100 films is my immediate goal," he informed the media. On this occasion he said that film stars could also be good politicians and history has proved it many times. He said this in reply to the comment made by Mayavati recently. Story

Abhi(Vinay) falls in love with Nandini(Meera Chopra) at first sight. He tries to find her but he couldn't. Abhi along with his mother (Jayasudha) goes to attend the marriage of her friend Bharati's (Seeta) daughter. Abhi finds that Nandini is none other than the daughter of Seeta and she is the bride. After sometime Nandini also starts loving him and she wants to marry him. How Abhi wins his love is the remaining story.

Performances

Vinay has done a very good job as lover boy. Meera Chopra is good. Cinematography is excellent. MS Raju who has debuted as director with this film has succeded to some extent, but was not perfect as a whole. Music by Kamalakar is good. Vaana is the remake of Kannada hit film Mungaru male. There is entertainment missing in this film.

This is an average film and you may like it if you like love stories.

Sumanth's Pourudu review

Story:
Ajay (Sumanth) is the son of Paandu (Suman)who is the right hand of Zaheer Bhai(Nazer). Paandu believes that Zaheer Bhai can only do justice to the People and he does not believe in Police and government. Ajay wants to become an IAS officer to serve the people. So, the father and son have different opinions and they oppose each other. Zaheer Bhai joins hands with his oponent(Kasi) and Dubai based Ansari for drug trafficing. Paandu did not like this and he leaves him and they kill him. How Ajay manages the things and takes his revenge for the murder of his father is the rest of the story.


Performances:
Sumanth has performed excellent and he suited well for this role. Suman's performance was also very good. Kajal is pretty. Director Raj Aditya has done a great job. Entertainment is low in this film.

Overall an average film which can be watched.

Allu Arjun-Dil Raju movie shooting progress

Shooting of the film being directed by Bommarillu Bhaskar and produced by Dil Raju with Allu Arjun and Sheela in the lead is presently going at a brisk pace in Araku. Major part of the shooting of the film has been completed and the movie will be released on May 9, 2008. Manisharma is the music director of the film. The title of the film is not yet finalized although various titles like Vaaradhi, Romeo, and Premikudu are being considered. This is the second movie the combination of Allu Arjan and Dil Raju after Arya and this is also the second movie in the combination of Dil Raju and Bhaskar after Bommarillu.

Ravibabu next movie is the remake of Monster-in-law

Ravibabu who has recently directed the film Anasuya and which is currently successfully is planning to direct a film titled Maa Attayya Dayyam. This movie is said to be the remake of Hollywood flick Monster-in-law. Veteran actor Radhika is going to play the role of 'attaya' that was played by Jane Fonda in the original and Genelia will be seen in the role of daughter-in-law played by Jennifer Lopez in the original. Hero of the film is yet to be selected.

Raviteja's Krishna Review

Story:
Krishna (Raviteja) who has completed his Msc (Comp.) winning Goldmedalist works in an organization. He leaves his job for another person who is in need of Job. He lives with his brother (Chandramohan) in Vijayawada spending time with his friends. One day, he meets Sandya (Trisha) and falls in love with her. She is the sister of a Bada Builder Shinde from Hyderabad (Sayaji Shinde). Shinde has a rivalary with Jakka (Mukul Dev) who a criminal and rapist. Jakka wants to marry Sandhya. How Krishna deals with Jakka and does he win his love is the remaining story.

Performances:
Raviteja has given a very good performance and the role is best suited for him. Trisha looked pretty. V.V. Vinyak done a good job by delivering a good entertainer more than a action movie. Story is routine, but presentation is good. Brahmandam's role as Bobby who has an affair with his servant is very good. M.S. Narayana, Venumadhav, and Sunil have done well. Dialouges are good.

Overall a good entertainer worth watching.

NTR award to Kaikala Satyanarayana

NTR Vignan Trust has decided to give the NTR award to Kaikala Satyanarayana this year. This was disclosed by NTR Vignan Trust chairperson Lakshmi Parvati. Kaikala Satyanarayana has played many types roles of anti-hero, hero, comedian, and character artiste in many Telugu films. He is the actor who has acted in most number of films with Nandamuri Taraka Ramarao i.e., in 108 film with NTR. He also has the title of Navarasa Natana Sarvabhouma. A function will be held in Ravindra Bharati soon to give this award. Actress Jamuna, Movie Mughal D. Ramanaidu, C. Narayana Reddy and others are likely to be present on the occasion.

Balakrishna's Okka Magaadu movie review

Story:
Satyam babu alias Veera Venkata Satyanarayana Swamy Balakrishna) lives in the village of Venkatapuram and the villagers belief him as god. Even the police are afraid to touch him. He performs the marriage of two lovers, the groom being the son of chief minister (Asutosh Rana). Meanwhile an old man contineus to kill the bad guys. By decoding certain features from the old man, the police assumes Satyam babu as the killer. During interrogation of Ramu, the old man comes and reveals that he is the killer. He also reveals that he was the Okka Magaadu, Raghupati Raghava Rajaram (Balakrishna), who fought with the British for freedom. Who is Okka Magaadu? Why does he kill the bad guys is the remaining story of the film.

Performances:
Balakrishna's performance as young Satyam babu and old man Okka Magaadu is excellent. YVS Chowdary presented Balarkrishna in new avatar look and he looked handsome. Nisha Kothari and Anushka do not have any special role to play, but they have done well in dances and adding glamour to the film. Simran has a special role in this movie and she performed aptly. Ashutosh Rana is okay. Krishna Bhagawan and Raghubabu are the comedians in the movie, but you hardly laugh by their comedy. Screenplay and direction by Y.V.S. Choudary is not upto the mark. Music by Manisharma is good. Dialogues are good. Some stunts in the movie are hard to believe.

Overall, the movie has opened with huge expectations because of the combination of Balakrishna and Y.V.S. Choudary, but it is far below from expectations. The only plus point of the film is Balakrishna.

Ontari audio to hit stands on January 11

Audio of the film Ontari being directed by B.V. Ramana and produced by Pokuri Baburao on the banner of Eeteram Films with Gopichand and Bhavana in the lead will be released by Aditya Music on January 11, 2008. The music has been composed by Mani Sarma. Two songs are yet to be picturised. The unit will be leaving for Seychelles to complete the songs. T. Krishna, father of hero Gopichand had directed many superhit films like Repati Powrulu, Pratigatana etc on the banner of Eetaram films. Later Gopichand had done Ranam and Yagnam with the same banner.

Hari Om shooting progress

Shooting of the film Hari Om being directed by Raman Lok and produced by Prashant Goud and Varma under the Jayalakshmi Talkies Banner with Shekhar and Nisha Kothari in the main lead is being shot extensively in Ramoji Film City. Krishna is doing an important role in this film. Bob Anthony, who had acted in films about 15 years ago, will be seen in this film. The shooting had started on December 20 and a song will be picturised on January 11 in Ramoji Film City on Shekhar and some models.

Idee Sangati completes talkie part

Shooting of the talkie part of the film Idee Sangati being directed and produced by Chandra Siddhartha has completed recently. Tabu is comming back in Tollywood as a lead actress with this film. Abbas and Raja are in the male lead. Recently, the unit had also picturised a song in Hyderabad. The audio of the film would be released soon.The post production work is currently under progress.

Shankar's dream project Robot with Rajnikanth

It is official now that Shankar is doing his dream project Robot with Rajnikanth. Initially, Shankar has approached Shah Rukh Khan for this movie, but Shah Rukh has refused it. This film will be made under the banner of Eros International. A.R. Rehmaan will be scoring the music of this film. This is the second movie in the combination of the trio Shankar, Rajni and Rehmaan after Shivaji. Robot will be produced in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu and other languages. Already there are rumours in the Kollywood that Deepika Padukone and Nayantara will be the heroines in this film.

Okka Magadu completes censor work

Okka Magaadu being directed and produced by Y.V.S. Choudary with Nandamuri Balakrishna in the lead has completed censor formalities and ready to be released on January 11, 2008. On Sunday, the film was censored and it got 'A' certificate. Balakrishna is playing dual role in the film. Anushka, Nisha Kothari and Simran are in the female lead.

Varsham director Shobhan passed away

Director Shoban who has directed the film Varsham has passed away on January 7, 2008 of heart attack. Shoban approached Bhumika for a Kannada film. At her residence in Hyderabad, Shoban had a cardiac arrest. Bhumika and her husband Bharat Takur immediately taken him to Image Hospitals in Madhapur, but he was already dead until they reached the hospital. Shoban made his directorial debut with Bobby starring Maheshbabu.

His wife's name is Soujanya and he has two sons. His Kannada film, Mayoora, with Puneeth Rajkumar as the hero was recently launched. He assisted Ram Gopal Varma, Krishnavamsi and K. Raghavendra Rao and also acted in films like Kshana Kshanam and Oka Raju Oka Rani.

A.R. Rahman is setting up a music school

A R Rahman has celebrated his 42 birthday on January 6. On this occasion, he announced that he is going to setup a music school in Chennai. This music school is called as KM Conservatory and Audio Media Education that would train interested people in various forms and genres of music. The courses would include Western Vocal and Instrumental Performance, Indian Classical Vocal, Western and Indian Music Theory, Music Appreciation, Ear Training, Piano, Audio Engineering, an Apple certified course in Logic Pro, and a Digidesign certified course in Pro Tools. This school will be setup in Kodambakam and he plans of shifting the campus to a larger space in the outskirts of Chennai in the future. The courses would be starting from this May.

Nee Sukhame Ne Koruthunna audio launched

Audio of the film Nee Sukhame Ne Koruthunna being directed and produced by Giribabu on the banner of Ranabheri Arts with Raja and Sneha in the lead was launched on Sunday. Mohan Babu launched the first audio cassette. Raja, Sneha and other cast were present on the occasion. Chappidi Hanumantha Rao is the presenter of this film. Teja, Venkat and Subba Rao are the co-producers of this film.

Kantri shooting progress

Shooting of the film Kantri being directed by Mehere Ramesh and produced by Ashwini Dutt on the banner of Vyjayanti Movies with Junior NTR and Hansika Motwani in the lead is progressing at a brisk pace. Presently a song is being shot at Ramoji Film City on the lead pair. A huge set has been erected for the song. Recently, the unit has returned from Hong Kong after doing shooting action sequences there. Manisharma is scoring music for the film. One more heroine is yet to be finalized.

ANR award to Anjali Devi

Anjali Devi will be getting the ANR award this year. This award will be presented by honorable Chief Minister Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy at a ceremony on January 13 as part of the Sankranti Celebrations. This was announced by Akkineni Venkat. Anjali Devi is the first Telugu artiste to get this award. She had acted in nearly 400 films and she acted against ANR in 50 films out of his 254 films. Anjali Devi debuted in films with Gollabhama. She also produced films along with her husband Adiseshagiri Rao.

Kalyan Ram movie shooting progress

Shooting of the film being directed by Harsha Vardhan and produced by Janaki Ram with Kalyan Ram in the lead is progressing in Hyderabad. Priyamani is the female lead in this film. For the first time Nandamuri Kalyan Ram is doing double role in this film. This is the highest budget movie for Kalyan Ram with Rs 9 Crore budget. Okadecchesadu is the title under consideration.

Swagatam to hit screens on January 24

Post production work of the film Swagatam being directed by Dasarath with Jagapati Babu, Anushka and Bhoomika in the lead is currently going on. The film has completed its shooting in
New York, Rajahmundry and Hampi. This film is a triangular love story. RP Patnaik scored the music for the film. Audio of the film was released recently. The film will be released on 24 of this month.

Krishna being directed by V.V. Vinayak with Raviteja and Trisha in the lead will be releasing on January 12, 2008 as a Sankranti gift. This film is going to be a entertainer. Gunasekhar-Balakrishna film titled Sadhu?

According to some sources in the film industry Gunasekhar is going to direct a movie with Balakrishna in the lead. It is being said that the film will soon be formally launched and the shooting could start soon. Nayanatara is going to be female lead in this movie. This is the first film in the combination of Nayanatara and Balakrishna. She has previously acted against Nagarjuna in Boss and Venkatesh in Tulasi. The title of the film could be Sadhu – The Saint Warrior. Harris Jayaraj is the music director of the film.
