Dhulipala Seeta Rama Sastry was born in Dachepally on 24th September 1921. He is known for his trademark roles of Sakuni in Telugu old classics. Dhulipala entered into stage plays in 1935 by doing female role. He established ‘Star Theater Group’ in Guntur in 1941 started giving stage shows.
He began his acting career at young age of 13, but took full-time to movies in 1961 with the film `Bheeshma'. His role as Shakuni in `Srikrishna Pandaveeyam', acting alongside NTR, brought him fame. He won Nandi award for his work in Bhandavyalu film. He was last seen in films like Choodalani Vundi (Prakash Raj’s father) and Murari.
He had worked in 300 movies, but took to `sanyas' in 2001 inspired by Swami Jayendra Saraswati of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham and set up Maruthi Ashram in Guntur. He was also known as Maruthi Sevendra Swamy. He passed away on April 13, 2007.
