S.V. Ranga Rao Profile

Samarla Venkata Ranga Rao (S.V. Ranga Rao) was born on July 3, 1918. He is one of the best(frankly speaking best) actor telugu film industry ever produced. He acted as an hero, villain, and character artist. He was a contemporary actor with Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao and Akkineni Nageshwar Rao. They both were famous heroes of their time, but S.V. Ranga Rao may not have stardom or he was not a big hero, but his acting skills were no less than anyone else. He had a very good voice too. No tegulu film buff will ever forget his roles in Pathalabhairavi as 'Mantrikudu', Mayabazar as 'Ghatochgachudu, and many many more. He won the Best Actor Award for his portrayal of Keechaka in Narthansala at the Indonesian Film Festival. He also produced and directed 'Bandavyalu' and 'Chadarangam' and produced 'Naade Ada Janme'. He acted almost every character in mythological movies. Please keep visiting our site for further information on this legendary actor.

Just not Tollywood, but Kollywood too will always miss a versatile actor like SVR. Pity, that both the 'woods' as well as Indian cinema in general, kept him and 'unsung hero'.
