The shooting Mahesh Babu starrer Athidi is going on at a brisk pace in Hyderabad. The movie
completed a long schedule in Delhi, Rajasthan and returned. Amrita is in the female lead in this film. Mani Sharma is the music director. Director of the movie is Y. Surender Reddy who earlier directed Athanokkadu and Ashok. Mahesh's elder brother – Ramesh Babu who made Arjun in the past is the producer. The makers announced their decision to release the film on the August 09, 2007, which is Mahesh Babu's birthday.
