Mumaith Khan's Family hailed from Pakistan to India and they settled in Bombay. Her father is an Indian and her mother is a Pakistani. She has four sisters and for her family , she joined a small dance troop.

Mumaith got the opportunity to play an item song in the Hindi movie 'Munna Bhai M.B.B.S.' starring Sanjay Dutt and came into lime light. After that, she became very busy in Bollywood as well as Tollywood and now Kollywood. She became famous in Telugu with the item song in 'Pokiri' starring Mahesh Babu and Ileana. In Tamil film 'Pokkiri', which was the remake of Telugu film Pokiri also she danced in an item song. In the Dr. Rajasekhar's film 'Evadiathe Nakenti' she played a police officer's role named Missama. She is acting as heroine in the film 'Bhookailash' with Venumadhav as the hero.
